FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • What is Direct Primary Care?

Direct Care means a patient pays a membership fee directly to a doctor rather than going through an insurance company. Direct Primary Care means you are a member of your primary care physician’s practice.  You also get a ton more for your money.  Coupled with high-deductible health insurance (for catastrophes) DPC is usually a great way to save money and get better care.  It’s a win-win!

Check out the River City Podcast episode here for more info here.

And watch this short video explaining what to expect during a meet and greet.

  • I have (X, Y or Z) insurance, can I use you as my doctor?

You can use RevMed regardless of which insurance you use!  If your insurance company changes unexpectedly or you lose your insurance that will never affect your membership!

  • What fees are involved in joining?

We charge a registration fee of $75 per member to cover the cost of importing your information and setting you up as a member.  After that, the only fees involved are our house call charge and for significant supplies or fees we encounter (lab charges, sutures etc.).

  • When can I join?

You can contact us with your information and we will set up a meet-and-greet.  We can’t provide any actual medical treatment or advice during that visit, but you can talk with Dr. Moore about what sort of care you or your loved one will need.

  • Can I see you in the office even though I’m not a member?

This is an excellent question that gets at the heart of the direct primary care model.  The simple answer is no.  We do offer house calls to non-members!  If you have further questions, please drop us a line with the “Contact Us” button.

  • How do I get to your waiting room?

You can’t, because we don’t have one!  Dr. Moore will meet you in the building lobby and take you directly to the office.  Our lobby is open from  9a - 5p daily, but we will meet you to open the door for you if you have an office visit outside of our regular hours.

  • What is your COVID-19 policy? Can you see members with COVID? What about testing?

We are vigilant about controlling infection and the spread of COVID-19, but Dr. Moore is absolutely committed to treating patients.  Prior to RevMed, Dr. Moore worked in urgent care during the pandemic and has a great deal of experience diagnosing COVID-19, protecting those with compromised immune systems and ensuring that sick and well patients are kept separate.

  • Who can you take care of?

We serve patients throughout the Richmond metroplitan area.  Dr. Moore has experience and is comfortable taking care of all ages and complexities.

  • What if I need care or to contact you outside of business hours? Or when you have a patient?

We're a lot like an old-school neighborhood doctor; calls and messages are triaged based on perceived urgency by Dr. Dan himself.  But if you contact us and say, "It's urgent" we will get back ASAP.  Also, any number that calls Dr. Dan's cell phone twice in quick succession will get picked up as soon as it is safe for him to do so.  Of course we are NOT an emergency service, and if you think you are having a medical emergency, PLEASE call 911.
